Madonna, Bryan Adams in News Notes

Madonna is out of her deal with Interscope Records after nearly a decade. The singer signed a three-album deal with the label in 2011 and the 2019 release of Madame X marked the final album in the deal… 

Live Nation will host a Bryan Adams concert in Düsseldorf, Germany, September 4, in front of a crowd of 12,000, at the Merkur Spiel Arena, an outdoor soccer stadium. The company is billing the event as Return to Live. Adams said that he would play acoustically with no band. Tickets for the show go on sale Tuesday (August 11). Also appearing at the show are Sarah ConnorRea GarveyThe BosshossJoris, and special guest Michael Mittermeier…

Burger Records shuts down

Earlier this week, Burger Records promised to make “major changes” after accusations of sexual misconduct against several artists and employees at the label, co-founder/president Lee Rickard stepped down and co-founder Sean Bohman moved “into a traditional roll,” the new interim president Jessa Zapor-Gray announced in a statement that “Upon further review, I have informed Burger Records that I no longer believe I will be able to achieve my intended goals in assuming the leadership role at Burger in the current climate. Therefore, I have decided to step away from the label entirely to focus on my other projects.”

When faced with Zapor-Gray’s decision, Bohrman decided to fold the label.The label’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts have all been disabled and several of the label’s artists have already been removed from streaming services.
